How to Get More Cake Orders
Today we are talking about how to get more cake orders from your custom cakes. I mean this is how to make your money.
Tell your friends and family that you are taking cake orders
Do they have a birthday or celebration coming up? Everyone celebrates a birthday especially children, so get them to order from you! Note – Don’t give a discount or just charge for ingredients! You are trying to start a business. You can give them some freebies, such as 6 mini cupcakes.
Share on Facebook Business Page
If you have a Facebook business page. Share on your Facebook Business Page that you are taking cake orders! Here’s a good example:
‘’We are NOW taking Cake Orders. Do you have a birthday, celebration or Christmas Party coming up? Order NOW and get 6 FREE Cupcakes!!! (on Orders over N15,000)’’
Facebook Groups
Nothing wrong in advertising your cakes on other groups.
Join various Facebook groups and share your new business and that you’re taking cake orders. Offer an incentive to come over to your business page, to give you their email address and to place an order.
Note – make sure you use clear photo’s and mention the area you can deliver to.
Share with your Email Contacts
Create a pretty newsletter and send it to everyone on your email list. Note – Give them something for free if they give you their email address, such as discounts etc.
A sample pitch is below:
‘’Hey, I have a free gift for you. Amaka’s Cakes are NOW taking Cake Orders. Attached is a Gift Voucher for 6 FREE Cupcakes (on orders over N15,000). And hey, if you have friends or family around Gbagada area, why not share this email and forward on & they can receive the free cupcakes too! Thank you. ‘’
Sell Your Cakes at the Church fairs or bazaars/ Cake Events or vendor Events/ Schools or Food Fairs
It is important to have many ways of selling your cakes. Church fairs, schools come highly recommend, especially at the beginning of a cake business, as this is where people are going to learn about your new business and order cakes from you!
Note – have business cards on your market stall table with a notepad to be able to take orders.
Have a selection of vouchers
Print out vouchers or fliers and give it to everyone.!
Tip – the most popular voucher is ‘’Order a cake for N10,000 & get a box 6 FREE cupcakes!’’
